Week 5 Recap
Here are some of the top stories from week 5.
Ranked Teams Losing

Nine teams ranked in the top 25 lost this week. Some were amazing upsets, and some were outcomes we expected. Here's the nine ranked schools that lost.
- No. 1 USC - The Trojans once again choked against a non-ranked PAC-10 team that has no where near the talent as Pete Carroll's bunch. This year it was Oregon St.'s turn. The Beavers pulled off the stunning upset on Thursday night, forcing me to stay up and watch. Man was I dragging ass the next day at work.
- No. 3 Georgia - The Dawgs did the unthinkable and lost during one of their black-out games. 'Bama has it's fans all riled up and clamoring about a national title. I thought it was nearly impossible for the Bulldogs to lose a "black-out" game.
- No 4. Florida - Lets' move on.
- No. 9 Wisconsin - The Badgers squandered a huge lead in the Big House. RichRod's bunch may have got the win they were looking for.
- No. 16 Wake Forest - Frankly, I'm more surprised that Wake lost to Navy than I am about USC losing to Oregon St. I didn't think the Midshipmen had a chance to stay on the field with the Demon Deacons. I guess that just shows the real power of the ACC.
- No. 20 Clemson - Speaking of ACC power. The Tigers pulled a Clemson and were upset by Maryland.
- No. 23 East Carolina - The Pirates are no longer the feel good story of the year. That's back-to-back losses after their 3-0 start.
- No. 24 TCU - I hope the Horned Frogs enjoyed their stay in the top 25. We all knew TCU was over matched vs. Oklahoma.
The SEC West is GOOOOODDD!!!!

If the SEC is the best conference in the country, than the SEC West is easily the best division in the nation. Coming into the season, the East took all the headlines. Now it seems, the West has the goods in the conference. Alabama obliterated Georgia and are currently ranked number 2 in the nation. Ole Miss pulled off the stunning upset of Florida at the Swamp. LSU is ranked third in the nation. And Auburn, ranked 13th nationally, beat Tennessee. The Vols aren't that good, but they're still an SEC East team. There's still plenty of football to play and I still believe an SEC East team will win the conference. However, right now the West is the best.
Still Unbeaten

There are still 18 teams in the nation with dreams of that perfect season. Some have better chances than others of coming closer to accomplishing that feat. Here are the 18 teams that are still playing perfect football.
- Alabama 5-0
- Ball St. 5-0
- Boise St. 3-0
- BYU 4-0
- Connecticut 5-0
- Kentucky 4-0
- LSU 4-0
- Missouri 4-0
- Northwestern 5-0
- Penn St. 5-0
- Oklahoma 4-0
- Oklahoma St. 4-0
- South Florida 5-0
- Texas 4-0
- Texas Tech 4-0
- Tulsa 4-0
- Utah 5-0
- Vanderbilt 4-0
Fumbles and a blocked extra point doom the Gators

I know it's kind of late to be doing a post game from yesterday's game. But I'm just now getting over my depression from the loss. What a good and bad game. Our offense finally seemed like it was starting to click. Moody ran well until he was injured, Harvin finally worked his way back into the offense, and Tebow finally got his rushing touchdown.
Yet it was 5 fumbles, 3 lost fumbles, and a blocked extra point that ruined the Gators' shit. I guess you could call it karma. Two years ago, we broke South Carolina's heart by blocking an extra point and two field goals to win it 17-16. How often do you see a blocked extra point? I have always said, if a team really tries they could probably block every single one of them.
One good thing to take from this game is Tebow's press conference afterwords. Tebow swore the Gators would be back with a vengence. He also nearly broke down in tears while he apologized to us Gator faithful. I would really hate to be an Arkansas Razorback right about now.
Here are the UF stats from the game.
Florida Passing
Tim Tebow 24-38 319 yards 1 td
Florida Rushing
Percy Harvin 10 82 yards 1 td
Emmanuel Moody 3 16 yards
Chris Rainey 3 9 yards
Brandon James 1 9 yards
Tim Tebow 15 7 yards 2 tds
Kestahn Moore 1 2 yards
Florida Receiving
Percy Harvin 13 186 yards 1 td
Aaron Hernandez 4 52 yards
Louis Murphy 4 41 yards
Riley Cooper 2 28 yards
Kestahn Moore 1 12 yards
Florida Interceptions
Major Wright 1 5 yards
Florida Kick Returns
Brandon James 4 116 yards
Florida Punt Returns
Brandon James 3 26 yards
Florida Kicking
Jonathan Phillips 1/1
Florida Punting
Chas Henry 4 138 yards
Player of the game
Percy Harvin - Wide Receiver, Running Back, Man 'O FumblesYes Harvin had another classic day in a Florida uniform. Yes Harvin flirted with a 200 yard receiving day. And yes Percy nearly accomplished 100 yards rushing AND receiving once again. However, Percy fumbled, and fumbled and fumbled the damn ball! His stats alone make him the player of the game, but some people could make him the goat of the game as well. Percy has never had a problem protecting the ball before. I hope this isn't the start of a new, horrible trend.
Good thing for Florida, Arkansas may be the worst team in the SEC. They looked like shit once again yesterday against Texas. If we don't play very impressive against the Hogs we might as well make travel arrangements to Tampa or Orlando for our bowl game now.

Ole Miss Lady Types
I've said it time and again, there's no college in America that can compete with Ole Miss when it comes to hot ass bitches!
I hope you Gator fans at the game savor every moment of this week. It's not often you're treated to better looking women than we have at the good 'ol U of F.
Since I myself have limited experience with dealing with the flesh lettuce that flocks down from Oxford, I thought I would share with you guys what you have to look forward to. Many thanks to Poon of the SEC for most of the pics.
I pray to god my wife doesn't start reading my blog this week.
When out on the town the night before the game, try to find a pack of hot Ole Miss coeds enjoying the local eateries. Here's what you might look for:

If that doesn't soothe your bearded chalupa fix, try looking for some Ole Miss females at one of the many bars along University Avenue. They will probably be traveling in packs a lot like this one:

Hell, you might even get lucky enough to spot some Ole Miss chicks that are in to dress up and role play:

So you don't get to see any Ole Miss whisker biscuits the night before the game. Have no fear, they know how to tailgate in Oxford:

If older poon tang is your thang, Ole Miss has that too. Just look for the hot MILF's wearing red and drinking a Diet Coke. Like so:

Some Rebel cheerleader action for ya:

And finally, if there were one word to sum up the females at Ole Miss it would be, Fucking AWESOME!

Weekly Picks
Overall- 207-44
Time for another weekly rendition of me showing just how awesome I am.
It's a shame how incredibly gifted I really am. I honestly can't get enough of myself.
By the way, damn North Carolina for giving away that lead to Va Tech. Here are my picks for this week:
SMU @ Tulane
USC @ Oregon St. (USC will dominate leading to an instant erection by Mark May.)
Connecticut @ Louisville
Minnesota @ Ohio St. (Closer than people think.)

Virginia @ Duke (Duke proves they are no longer the worst team in the ACC.)
Pittsburgh @ Syracuse
Kent St. @ Ball St.
Northern Illinois @ Eastern Michigan
Northwestern @ Iowa
North Carolina @ Miami(FL) (The Heels win the Butch Davis bowl.)
Ole Miss @ Florida
Army @ Texas A&M

Heisman Watch
There is a ton of candidates still out there vying for position on my prestigious Heisman list. Without further ado, here is this week's Heisman watch.
1. Chase Daniel - Missouri QB

Week 4 vs. Buffalo
36-43 439 yds 2 tds
Season Totals
101-143 1412 yds 12 tds 1 int
Daniel put in another quality performance against Buffalo this week. The Missouri offense is clicking rather nicely right now. The Tigers are easily the most impressive offense in this early season. Daniel has not used his feet quite as much as last year, but with his passing numbers, he won't have to.
2. Javon Ringer - Michigan St. RB
Week 4 vs. Notre Dame
39 201 yds 2 tds
Season Totals
143 699 yds 11 tds
Ringer was under considerable pressure this week after he made my Heisman watch for the first time last week. Javon ran right through that pressure like a cowering Notre Dame safety. Ringer once again carried his Spartans to a victory. No other tailback in the nation carries the load of his team more than Ringer does. As a class move, Javon did his postgame interview with his entire offensive line behind him.
3. Knowshon Moreno - Georgia RB
Week 4 vs. Arizona St.
23 149 yds 2 tds
Season Totals
69 455 yds 9 tds
While Ringer is the workhorse type tailback, Moreno is the electrifying, highlight inducing tailback. We all know highlights are what make Heisman winners. Moreno performed another acrobatic leap this week, this time for a score in the Bulldogs win in the desert. If Moreno performs the same against 'Bama, he could jump to the top of this list.
4. Sam Bradford - Oklahoma QB

Week 4 - Bye
Season Totals
64-81 882 yds 12 tds 2 ints
Bradford slips a bit this week just because he didn't play. I reward no one for not playing! (Except maybe Tebow) Bradford will face a stiff test against TCU this week. If he's able to pass with flying colors, he should be right back at the top of this list.
5. Tim Tebow - Florida QB

Week 4 vs. Tennessee
Passing
8-15 96 yds 2 tds
Rushing
12 26 yds
Season Totals
Passing
38- 64 489 yds 5 tds
Rushing
34 118 yds
Sure Tebow's numbers aren't going to blow anybody away this season. However, he is playing very good football right now for a dominant Gator football team. Tebow has yet to turn the ball over this season. Also, as the defending Heisman award winner, Tebow will stay on this list until he screws up.
The Next Five
- Colt McCoy Texas QB
- Graham Harrell Texas Tech QB
- Jeremy Maclin Missouri WR
- Donald Brown Connecticut RB
- Brandon James Florida RS

Rocky Toppled.
The Gators dominated the Vols today. The best part about the Gators' 30-6 victory was the fact that the UT band didn't have enough reasons to ravage our ear canals with Rocky Top.

Player of the Game
Brandon James - Kick Returner, Punt Returner, Bad AssJames' punt return for a touchdown may have been one of the best returns I've seen in a while. If James' punt return for a touchdown against the Vols his freshmen season wasn't called back, this would have been the third straight year the diminutive James would have torched UT.
Notes:
I think Urban Meyer may have read my previous blog on Emmanuel Moody. The Gators FINALLY gave Moody the ball. I must say Manny didn't disappoint. He showed the skill set that made him PAC-10 freshman of the year 2 years ago. I hope this is a sign of things to come.
Tebow was solid once again. Although he hasn't had the staggering numbers this season, he is playing very good football. Timmy has yet to throw an interception this season, and his decision making only seems to be getting better.
Our defense was phenomenal this game. The biggest question mark on this team is starting to prove themselves. Penalties were still an issue, although some could have easily went the other way. I can live with the penalties, as long as they aren't too costly.
All in all, it was a good win for the Gators. Our fourth straight vs. the Vols. I'm just glad we don't have to hear Tebow sing Rocky Top.

Week 4 Preview
Florida travels to Knoxville to listen to 3 and a half hours of god awful Rocky Top. The only thing worse than having to sit through that travesty of a "song" is to listen to 100,000 dumb ass hillbillies sing it off key. I swear I wanna vomit every time I hear that piece of shit.
As a side bar to the raping of our eardrums by the UT band, the Gators and Volunteers will actually be playing a game in front of the aforementioned hillbillies. I'm sorry to inform Cletus and Maude that their Vols have no chance in this game. Sure, some Gator players have given the UT players a LOT of bulletin board material, and yeah, the Vols have revenge on their mind after getting destroyed in the Swamp last year. None of that matters, the Gators will win this one comfortably. I hope Kenny Chesney is ready to wear a Gator helmet at his next concert.
Two top ten teams will be meeting in the SEC West when LSU travels to Auburn. I hope Tony Franklin and his bunch can put up more than 3 points against the Bayou Bengals. If not, this game could get ugly early.
I admit I was a little down on LSU due to their QB situation, but with the way they run the ball and play defense, they might not need a QB. Speaking of not having a QB, Chris Todd and Kodi Burns have not been overly impressive thus far for Auburn. I was expecting Burns to thrive under Frankiln's spread offense. I guess I was wrong.
Both of these games pale in comparison to the monumental throwdown between Ole Miss and Vanderbilt. Ole Miss is very close to making this game a battle of unbeatens. I am thoroughly impressed with the way Jevan Snead has performed. I knew Snead was good, but not this good. Marshay Green and Mike Wallace are both top-flight receivers for the Rebels. It's a shame Vandy doesn't have 2 D.J. Moore's to cover them. I like Ole Miss to hand the Commodores their first defeat of the season.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In my opinion the Auburn-LSU game is the game of the week. However, everyone is talking about Georgia vs. Arizona St. Perhaps the fact that these two teams have never met makes this game a little more intriguing than the battle of the Tigers.
Granted, this game lost a little luster after the Sun Devils went quietly into the night vs. UNLV, but I still think this game will be very entertaining. Dennis Erickson will have his bunch ready to play. Rudy Carpenter is an NFL quality QB and the Sun Devil offense can explode quickly. However, the Dawgs have just a little too much depth for ASU. I like UGA to prevail in this one.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The game between Idaho and Utah St. this weekend is a crime against humanity. Both teams should be locked up for cruel and unusual punishment. The Vandals and the Aggies are consistently among the worst teams in the nation. Idaho actually comes into this game with a win! Albeit against a 1-aa team.
I think ESPN should broadcast this game for the hell of it. Why not? Maybe they can put in on one of the ESPN+ affiliates. I don't think there has been a game between two worse programs ever. I know they meet every year, but both teams are exceptionally bad this year. If you're a fan of one of these schools, first off, what the hell are you thinking? Secondly, I'm sorry if I have offended you.
Not really.....

Players moving up:
Here's some guys that are performing better than expected this season.
Drew Willy - Buffalo QB
Chase Clement - Rice QB
Donald Brown - Connecticut RB
Patrick Pinckney - East Carolina QB
Ahmad Black - Florida S
Sean Spence - Miami(FL) LB
David Johnson - Tulsa QB
Damien Williams - USC WR
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Players going down:
Here's some good for nothing shit bags that don't deserve to call themselves football players.
Kodi Burns - Auburn QB
Entire Syracuse Team
Mike Teel - Rutgers QB
Virginia's Offense
South Carolina QB's
Gary Rogers - Washington St. QB
The ACC
Cortez Gent - Florida Atlantic WR
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What the hell's going on with:
Teams from Arizona.
Both the Wildcats and the Sun Devils suffered defeats at the hands of some pretty mediocre Mountain West teams. Arizona lost to New Mexico, again. The same Lobo team that was thumped by TCU earlier in the season. ASU lost to UNLV, which some people, including me, picked to be one of the worst teams in the nation. I do think 'Zona will be able to rebound this week against UCLA. Unfortunately for the Sun Devils, they will play Georgia.
What has gotten into:
The Mountain West Conference.
Speaking of the Mountain West, how good is this conference? BYU and Utah are both ranked in the top 25. Both the Cougars and the Utes are favored to be BCS busters this season. TCU may be the most impressive team to me so far this season. UNLV and New Mexico both upset the Arizona schools last week. Air Force has looked really good running the ball. Wyoming is ok. San Diego St. and Colorado St. are the only two absolute garbage teams in the conference. Not bad for a Non-BCS league. Plus, they have James Bates as an analyst for their network.

Where's Moody

I was all kinds of pumped up when Sir Emmanuel Moody announced he was transferring to the greatest institution known to man.
"Finally," I thought, "We have a dangerous back that will take some of the load off of Tebow and Harvin." Whenever I attended a Gator game last year, I made sure to spot Moody on the sideline. I would elbow my annoyed girlfriend and say, "That guy right there is the answer."
Not since C-4 donned a Gator jersey had I been so excited about a Gator running back. Deshawn Wynn was ok, but I always felt that his power running style didn't fit in with our offense. And don't get me started on Kestahn Moore.
Heading in to week 1 and our momentous showdown against the Hawaii Warriors I was jacked to see this Gator offense in action. I wasn't disappointed. Jeff Demps, Chris Rainey and Brandon James had tremendous games at the running back position. Our rushing attack was stellar, and we didn't even need Tebow to help out. All of this excitement was somewhat diluted by the fact that I didn't get to see Mr. Moody do his thang.
2 carries?!?! Are you serious?!?!?! 2 carries?!?!?! I couldn't believe that Urban Meyer found a way to get the ball in the hands of every running back on his squad EXCEPT for Moody. I heard all kinds of reports after the game that Moody was a little dinged up and Meyer was a little hesitant to use him. However, I also heard that Moody was still struggling to pick up the offense. I have to say I believe the latter a little more than the former.
Week 2 came, and went. This time Moody didn't tote the pill even once! Granted our offense struggled all night against a very good and speedy Miami Hurricane defense. But we're talking about a guy who won PAC-10 Freshman of the year two years ago. Instead of giving him a chance, Meyer and Dan Mullen decided to give the ball to Kestahn Moore. Why we still hand the ball off to Moore is way beyond me.
This week the Gators will travel to Knoxville to take on Tennessee. While I don't expect a blowout on par with last season's whoop-ass, I do expect the Gators to win comfortably. That is, unless we hand the ball off to Kestahn over 5 times.
Moody transferred to Florida to escape the extremely crowded backfield at USC. With the likes of Chris Rainey, Jeff Demps, Brandon James, Mon Williams and even Kestahn Moore, our backfield is a little crowded too. However, I know Moody is a more talented back than all of these guys. He may not have the speed of Demps, the elusiveness of Rainey or the shittiness of Moore, but he IS a better all-around back.
I hope to see, at the very least, more than 2 carries for Moody this week. I guess we'll see what happens.

Weekly Picks
Overall - 161-33
For some reason it seems like I missed a lot more than 11 games this past week. I guess my awesomeness is hard to fathom even for myself. If it wasn't for the PAC-10, most notably Arizona, Arizona St. ad California, I might have had back-to-back weeks of single digit misses.
I have to make my picks early this week because their is a monster showdown on Wednesday.
As I did last week, I will highlight my pick.
Kansas St. @ Louisville (This is the momentous game I spoke of on Wednesday.)
West Virginia @ Colorado (I think Dan Hawkins will have his bunch ready to play some division 1 football.)
Baylor @ Connecticut
Troy @ Ohio St. (Just barely.)
East Carolina @ North Carolina St. (The dream season continues.)
Temple @ Penn St.
Mississippi St. @ Georgia Tech
Ohio @ Northwestern
Florida Atlantic @ Minnesota (For the second straight season.)
Iowa @ Pittsburgh
Central Michigan @ Purdue
Alabama @ Arkansas ('Bama wins the Douchebag Bowl.)
South Carolina St. @ Clemson
UCF @ Boston College
Eastern Michigan @ Maryland
Akron @ Army
Buffalo @ Missouri
Wyoming @ BYU
Arizona @ UCLA
Indiana St. @ Northern Illinois (Jerry Kill's first win as a Husky.)
UL-Monroe @ Tulane
Florida @ Tennessee (It will be closer than last year....But not by much.)
Boise St. @ Oregon (I like Boise St., but not enough.)
Houston @ Colorado St.
Notre Dame @ Michigan St.
Virginia Tech @ North Carolina
Northeastern @ Syracuse ( I know I said I'd never pick the Orange again, but I'm giving them one more chance.)
Miami(FL) @ Texas A&M
Rutgers @ Navy
Marshall @ Southern Miss
Utah @ Air Force
Alabama St. @ UAB
Idaho @ Utah St. (Quite possibly the worst game of all-time.)
South Florida @ Florida International
Rice @ Texas
Massachusetts @ Texas Tech
Wake Forest @ Florida St.
Sam Houston St. @ Kansas
Ball St. @ Indiana (Nate Davis to Dante Love all game long.)
Murray St. @ Western Kentucky
Vanderbilt @ Ole Miss
Portland St. @ Washington St.
Kent St. @ UL-Lafayette
Middle Tennessee @ Arkansas St.
SE Louisiana @ Louisiana Tech
Wofford @ South Carolina
Tennessee Tech @ Western Michigan
New Mexico @ Tulsa
Miami(OH) @ Cincinnati
LSU @ Auburn (The game of the week.)
Georgia @ Arizona St.
Nicholls St. @ Memphis
TCU @ SMU
Fresno St. @ Toledo
San Jose St. @ Stanford
Iowa St. @ UNLV
New Mexico St. @ UTEP
Upset Alert: UNLV has a real good chance to take down it's second straight BCS opponent when they host Iowa St. Portland St. will give Wazzo all they can handle as well. Also, it might not be considered an upset, but Florida St. will be playing for all kinds of respect when they host Wake Forest on Saturday, Of course, the 'Noles probably don't care too much about respect anyway.

Heisman Watch
As you might have noticed, there has been a great degree of variance from week to week in my Heisman watch.
Here is this week's edition.
1. Sam Bradford - Oklahoma QB

Week 3 vs. Washington
18-21 304 yards 5 tds
Season Totals
64-81 882 yards 12 tds 2 ints
Once again, Bradford put in another brilliant performance. This guy is one of the more efficient passers in the nation. I believe he is already better than Jason White and Josh Heupel, 2 of Bob Stoops' most accomplished QB's. The Big XII is a conference of quarterbacks, and Sam Bradford is the best of them.
2. Chase Daniel - Missouri QB

Week 3 vs. Nevada
23-38 405 yards 4 tds
Season Totals
65-100 973 yards 10 tds 1 int
Bradford might be the best QB in the Big XII, but Chase Daniel is very close behind him. Daniel put up some monstrous numbers against a very solid Nevada team. Daniel seems to be a shoe-in to make it back-to-back trips to New York City this season. Daniel to Maclin is fast becoming the most dangerous duo in the nation.
3. Tim Tebow - Florida QB

Week 3 Bye
Season Totals
Passing- 30-49 393 yards 3 tds
Rushing- 22 92 yards
Nothing new for Tebow as his Florida Gators had a bye week. Tennessee is coming up next for Florida. That's really good news for Tebow. He always seems to kick it up a notch for the Vols.
4. Javon Ringer - Michigan St. RB
Week 3 vs. Florida Atlantic
43 282 yards 2 tds
Season Totals
104 498 yards 9 tds
Ringer is a new addition to my top 5. His monster performance earned him Big Eleven offensive player of the week honors. Ringer is the truest definition of a workhorse. Michigan St. will look to ride him to a possible Big Eleven championship.
5. Knowshon Moreno - Georgia RB
Week 3 vs. South Carolina
20 79 yards 1 tds
Season Totals
46 306 yards 7 tds
Moreno didn't put up staggering numbers this week. However, he did score a touchdown against a very tough Gamecock defense. Moreno is still the most exciting back in the country. For that, he remains in my top 5. Imagine the numbers he would be able to put up if Stafford stopped chucking kegs long enough to throw a decent pass.
The Next Five
- Colt McCoy Texas QB
- Graham Harrell Texas Tech QB
- Jeremy Maclin Missouri WR
- Chase Clement Rice QB
- Mark Sanchez USC QB
