If you check ESPN's current 2010 recruiting ranks, you'll see something quite familiar by now. The Gators are seated atop the polls. The class that Meyer is bringing in is superb once again. Since there's a by week this week, I figured now would be a good time to take a look into our bright future.
First up is Trey Burton. Burton is a 6'3 204 pound "athlete" out of Venice High in Florida. I put athlete in quotations because I really can't see this kid playing any other position but QB. Yea he's big and elusive, but the man has got an arm. This is something that can readily be seen when watching one of his highlight reels.
Speaking of highlight reels, here's a highlight tape of Trey Burton from last season.
I really hope he stays with the number 22 and stays at QB. How great would it be to see a throwback like Burton rocking a number 22 while slinging the ball all over the place. He'd definitely look better than this guy.

Baby Gators: Recruiting
The Gators are coming into this season with perhaps the best TE unit in the country. Cornelius Ingram and Aaron Hernandez are both versatile enough to line up at WR and cause all kinds of match-up problems for opposing defenses.
The Gators are making sure they won't miss a beat with the departure of CI after this season. TE Desmond Parks has committed to the University of Florida for the 2009 season.

One less life for Bobby Petrino to ruin
Bobby Petrino (a.k.a. The Devil's Urinal Cake) has cost the Arkansas Razorback program another top recruit. I don't feel bad at all for the Hogs because they put themselves in this position by hiring Bobby D (as in douchebag).
Top WR recruit Cruz Williams has de-committed from Arkansas to go to national power Louisiana Tech. Williams signed with the Razorbacks when Houston Nutt was still the coach, and he has removed his commitment after the takeover of Captain Ass Clown.
Williams caught 105 passes for 1,306 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior at Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas.
I commend this kid for realizing that he wants to play for a coach that actually has a set of morals and values. However, Louisiana Tech??? I like the Bulldogs, but there had to have been better schools out there.
I'm glad the Razorbacks are on the schedule rotation for the Gators these next couple of years. I wouldn't be too surprised if Nutt gets more wins at Ole Miss this year than Petrino gets at Arkansas.

Baby Gators: Recruiting
The Gators scooped up two more commits for their 2009 recruiting class. That brings their total to 5 players already committed to play football at Florida in 2009.
The recruits so far:
DL Gary Brown West Gadsden high - Quincy, FL
OL Jon Halapio St. Petersburg Catholic - St. Petersburg, FL
RB Greg Reid Lowndes County High - Valdosta, GA
RB Mike Gillislee DeLand High - DeLand, FL
Ath Nu' Keese Richardson Pahokee High - Pahokee, FL
Richardson is listed as an athlete, but he plays WR for the Pahokee Blue Devils. If our defense struggles again this year, he could be moved into the secondary for 2009.
