CFB 365's Top 25

This week there is considerably more shake ups in my top 25 than in previous weeks. There are several new teams as well as teams that have either moved up or slid down considerably.

Here's how they rank.

1. Florida Gators - The Gators didn't completely annihilate the Volunteers like everyone thought they would. However, a win is a win in the tough SEC. Florida gets Kentucky and a bye week before they travel to Baton Rouge for what may be their toughest challenge of the season.

2. Texas Longhorns - Colt McCoy pulled off another one of his miraculous second half turnarounds on Saturday against Tech. The Longhorns looked a little out of sorts before halftime against the Red Raiders. Texas survived it's first big game of the season. There are several more potential bumps in the road.

3. LSU Tigers - The Tigers didn't blow anybody out of the water with their unimpressive victory over in-state "rival" Louisiana-Lafayette. However, it seems that Jordan Jefferson is getting better with every drive. If the QB play comes around to catch up with the rest of the talent at LSU, this team can be dangerous.

4. Alabama Crimson Tide - Alabama's victory in week 1 over Virginia Tech continues to look better thanks to Tech's wins. Last week, Bama looked pretty, well..... un-Bama like. The Tide scored early and often and racked up the yardage against the porous North Texas defense.

5. California Golden Bears - RB Jahvid Best continues to move up the Heisman list as his team continues to rise in the rankings. Once again, the Golden Bears were one of the more impressive teams this weekend. The passing game also seems to be coming along nicely for Cal.

6. Boise St. Broncos - Boise St. started to steamroll Fresno St. before letting the Bulldogs back into the game. The Broncos would go on to hang 51 points on the Fresno St. defense. Kellen Moore and the Boise St. offense should face no more stiff challenges on their way to an undefeated season.

7. Penn St. Nittany Lions - Penn St. destroyed another hapless opponent over the weekend. This time it was Temple's turn to get all tore up by the Fighting JoePas. At this point, it looks like it could be all Penn St. in the Big Eleven this year.

8. Ole Miss Rebels - SE Louisiana put up little resistance in Oxford. Ole Miss' only other win against Memphis looks less and less impressive as the weeks go by. Ole Miss really needs a quality win right about now.

9. Virginia Tech Hokies - The Hokies climbed back into the top ten after their impressive victory over Nebraska on Saturday. Tyrod Taylor came through when it was needed most against the vaunted Blackshirt defense of Nebraska. Even though the Hokie defense gave up all kinds of yards to Roy Helu, Tech still came away with a win.

10. Ohio St. Buckeyes - Speaking of climbing back into the top ten, the Buckeyes find themselves back. This is more or less the result of teams ahead of them choking. I still think Ohio St. has the chance to get things together and challenge Penn St.

11. Oklahoma Sooners - Where the hell did Landry Jones go? He was replaced by some bionic sure fire NFL prospect on Saturday against Tulsa. Whoever this new QB is, he quickly made the Sooner faithful forget all about Sam Bradford with his 6 touchdown passes.

12. USC Trojans - USC slides out of the top ten after their defeat at the hands of the Washington Huskies. I know some people will be upset that I have the Trojans ranked lower than a team that they beat in Ohio St. But who cares? It's my poll and I can do whatever I want.

13. Miami(FL) Hurricanes - The Hurricanes end the run of one loss teams. Most everyone else has this Miami squad in the top ten. Maybe I should have them there too. Perhaps they can persuade me with a win over the Sooners.

14. Cincinnati Bearcats - Cincy went into Corvallis and beat up on a very good Oregon St. team. The win was a very impressive one for Brian Kelly's bunch. Tony Pike is looking more and more like a serious QB. The defense is once again the talk of the town in Cincy.

15. Kansas Jayhawks - Kansas started off slow against Duke before Todd Reesing and Co. went off on David Cutcliffe's squad. Jake Sharp's mysterious disappearance from the game scares me a bit, but I think everything will be fine in Lawrence.

16. Houston Cougars - Houston got to sit back and enjoy their victory over Oklahoma St. for another week. They continue the run through the C-USA next week.

17. Washington Huskies - The Huskies move into the top twenty after their momentous victory over USC. Couple that with a close loss to LSU in week 1, and you gotta admit that this Washington team is very good. It's looking even worse for Ty Willingham now.

18. TCU Horned Frogs - Still not overly impressed with the Hogs. Beating the Texas St. Bobcats will elicit little more than a yawn from me. Wake me up when they play somebody for real. Then again, they are the only remaining unbeaten team of the MWC triumvirate.

19. North Carolina Tar Heels - UNC struggled early against East Carolina but pulled away late on the heels of their potent passing attack. Butch Davis has this Carolina team playing really well. We'll see how long they can keep this up.

20. Oklahoma St. Cowboys - The Cowboys got back on the winning track after taking down almighty Rice this week. That win won't push them back into the limelight, but they were able to dominate without Kendall Hunter.

21. Florida St. Seminoles - Everyone is all over FSU's jock after their dominating performance over BYU this weekend. I admit, I was impressed, but the win doesn't erase memories of FSU barely eeking out a victory over Jacksonville St.

22. BYU Cougars - Speaking of BYU. How ugly was that loss? Pretty damn ugly. The Cougars remain in my top 25, but they fall 13 spots behind the team that beat them.

23. Georgia Bulldogs - Georgia won a shootout against Arkansas on Saturday night. In what was one of the more entertaining games of the early season, UGA's Joe Cox and Arkansas' Ryan Mallett went blow for blow late into the night in Fayatteville. Georgia remains at 23 thanks to the arrival of the new 25 clubs.

24. Auburn Tigers - Auburn makes it another SEC team in the top 25 this season. I pre-determined that the winner of the West Virginia-Auburn contest would move into my top 25. I can do that...

25. Missouri Tigers - Once again Mizzou hangs onto the 25th spot in the rankings. They should fall out shortly.

Too Close For Comfort

Saturday came and went. All the hooplah and hype surrounding the Tennessee-Florida match-up built everyone up for what turned out to be a good, hard-fought, poorly reffed game.

Lane Kiffin didn't get a chance to sing Rocky Top after the loss, but he does leave Gainesville able to hold his head up high. The Gators fumbled and stumbled their way to a 23-13 victory. While a win is a win, this one left a lot to be desired. I don't care what Coach Urb says.

Tim Tebow had one of his worst games in the Orange and Blue. For the first time since he was 12, Tebow did not throw a touchdown pass. Not only does that look bad, but it totally screwed my fantasy football team. He also fumbled while the Gators were driving in for a deciding touchdown. All that aside, Timmy did make some great plays. He bulldozed over all-everything Eric Berry. He made a spectacular game saving run on a third and long. Even on the aforementioned fumble, Tebow was in the midst of a terrific run.

The refereeing in this game was horrendous. It's nice to see how close Gator games will be reffed throughout the rest of the season. On Tennessee's only touchdown drive Jaye Howard was called for a celebration penalty after going with the Duante Culpepper hand rolling celebration after stopping a reverse. On the Gators' ensuing drive, Tennessee's defensive end Chris Walker celebrated in a similar manner after sacking Tim Tebow. No flag. I don't think Howard should have been flagged in the first place, but since he was, how about a little consistency? Speaking of consistency. Jonathan Crompton was not penalized late in the game for an intentional grounding when he launched the ball about 60 rows deep in the stands to avoid a sack. Crompton was not out of the tackle box and therefore should have been flagged.

All in all, the game was a little surprising. Just look at my prediction from last week to see what I thought of the game. Tennessee's offensive line pushed the Gators' d-line around all game long, And the Vols' secondary shut down the Gator receivers pretty regularly.

The stats:

Passing

Tim Tebow - 14-19 115 yds 1 int

Rushing

Tim Tebow 24 rush 76 yds 1 td
Chris Rainey 9 rush 64 yds
Emmanuel Moody 3 rush 33 yds
Jeff Demps 4 rush 31 yds 1 td

Ahmad Black 11 tckls
Joe Haden 8 tckls
Will Hill 5 tckls
Brandon Spikes 4 tckls

Sacks

Player of the Game
Ahmad Black - Mighty Mouse

Black secured the interception on Tennessee's last drive of the game. The pick finally sealed the victory for the Gators. Also, Black manged to get double digit tackles thanks to the not so great play of the d-line. Ahmad was solid in helping stop the run as the 8th man in the box. That role may have helped in Black's inflated tackle stats as well.

Week 3 Preview

The college football season is finally starting to get it's legs under itself. For the most part, the cup cake challengers are long gone off of the heavyweight's schedules. Now it's time to get down to the business. There are several teams that will be opening up conference play this week, as well as several teams that are finally going to face somewhat of a challenge.

Here's what you need to know, as deemed by me, for week 3.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5 Games to Watch

1. Florida v. Tennessee - Of course this game is going to make the list. The Gators are finally going to face a team that will be somewhat competitive for at least two quarters. Maybe. We all know about the hype leading up to this game and I've already gone into great detail what I think about it.

2. Virginia Tech v. Nebraska - This is probably the best game that has not been talked about all year long. Both of these teams are solid defensively as well as great rushing teams. Roy Helu of Nebraska and Va Tech's Ryan Williams could be the deciding factors for this game. Also, look for special teams to play a major role.

3. Washington v. USC - This game looks like a blowout no matter which way you study it from. I am a sucker for new coaches facing their old teams though. That's what you have with this match-up. Steve Sarkisian's Husky squad is coming off it's first win since 1975. They will be all kinds of motivated to put up a fight against the Trojans. They still lose, and possibly lose big. But I'll enjoy watching it.

4. Oregon v. Utah - This is Oregon's chance to redeem itself. They already failed miserably in trying to take down a top-tier Non-BCS team this season. We all remember the LeGarrette Blount Bowl in Week 1. Now the Ducks get a shot at the Utes. I actually like the Ducks' chances in this one. They are playing at home, and Utah no longer has Brian Johnson taking snaps.

5. BYU v. Florida St. - The Noles will be fighting to earn some respect back in this game. After barely losing to Miami, Bobby Bowden's bunch went out and almost lost to the Gamecocks at home last week. That's not the South Carolina Gamecocks. That's the vaunted Jacksonville St. Gamecocks. The very same team led by the legendary Ryan Perriloux. BYU will be looking to continue their BCS season. Knocking off Oklahoma and Florida St in the same season will look really good in the school's media guide for years to come.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5 Players to Watch

1. Tim Tebow QB Florida - Tebow is coming into the game vs. the Vols extremely pissed off. You don't wanna make Timmy angry. He could be in for a huge day.

2. Darryl Clark QB Penn St. - Clark is another QB that could be in for a huge day. The Nittany Lions are hosting Temple.

3. Freddie Barnes WR Bowling Green - Barnes is among the nation's leader in nearly every receiving statistical category. This week the Falcons will be taking on Marshall. A team that is not well known for it's pass defense.

4. Damion Fletcher RB Southern Miss - The Eagles are hosting Virginia this week. The Cavs are one of the worst teams in the nation. They can't do anything right, much less contain a top-flight RB.

5. Dan LeFevour QB Central Michigan - Last week LeFevour led a come from behind victory vs. Michigan St. This week: Alcorn St. I think he'll do just fine.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Heisman Race

1. Tim Tebow Florida QB
2. Colt McCoy Texas QB
3. Max Hall BYU QB
4. Joe McKnight USC RB
5. Jahvid Best California RB

Florida-Tennessee Preview

Well it's fast approaching. The Florida v. Tennessee game is almost upon us. As we all know this particular issue of the rivalry is a poignant one. The Good Guys v. The Bad Guys. The Kiffins v. Meyer. Rocky Top v. The Orange and Blue. The Creamsicle Crusaders v. Brandon Spikes, etc. etc.

All the stories, plot lines and sub plot lines are enough to fill a decades worth of rivalry games. We get it all this Saturday. The Swamp will be crazy and Urb will be ready to exact his revenge and shut Laney up.

3:30 on Saturday can't get here soon enough....

5 Keys to the Game

1. Control emotions - There is so much hype surrounding this game. The Gators have to realize that it's all just hype. Sure they can use some of Lane Kiffin's words for motivation. I know I'm more pumped up for this game than I have been for a Tennessee game since the days of the 'Ol Ball Coach. But it's ok if I let my emotions get the best of me, I don't have a game plan to follow. Plus, I'll more than likely be drunk at game time.

2. Protect the ball - This is pretty much a key in any game. However, it should be emphasized more for this particular contest. In the Gators' only lost last season, they turned the ball over more than all of their other games combined. Hopefully they got all of their fumbles out of the way v. Troy last week.

3. Block out Rocky Top - It's just a god-awful song. If the Gator players accidentally subject themselves to the torturous ear raping that is Rocky Top, they may implode.

4. Avoid penalties - The last thing we need is to allow Tennessee to hang around longer than they should because of penalties. Even the greatest of talent, a.k.a. Florida Gators, can be cancelled out by drive-stalling penalties. Again, hopefully we got most of our penalties out of the way vs. Troy last week.

5. Don't listen to the hype - It's dangerous. Especially in a rivalry game.

5 Players That Need to Step Up

1. Brandon Spikes - Mr. Spikes needs to be ready to inflict as much punishment as possible on Saturday. I have to say B. Spikes hasn't looked like his normal self these past two games. Then again, it is kind of hard to get geared up for Charleston Southern and Troy. He should have no such problems vs. Tennessee.

2. Janoris Jenkins - The only unit on Tennessee's offense that is athletic enough to halfway compete with the Gators D are the wide receivers. Joe Haden will be solid as usual and should get another hard hit on Jonathan Crompton. I'm looking for Jenkins to step up and shut down one of those talented receivers. I'm looking at you Nu'Keese.

3. Brandon James - Brandon James has had his biggest games against Tennessee. For some reason they have never learned to kick away from him. Hopefully the new regime didn't get the memo either.

4. David Nelson - Riley Cooper has had 2 outstanding games. Deonte Thompson hasn't been all that impressive, but he managed to stop dropping balls long enough to catch 2 td passes. Even Justin Williams, Omarius Hines and Cade Holliday have looked good. The only receiver that hasn't produced has been David Nelson. Time for him to contribute.

5. Tim Tebow - Senior season. The most hyped Florida-Tennessee game ever. Keeping national title hopes alive. The Heisman. All are reason why it would be nice if Mr. Tebow went off for a monster game. Hopefully Timmy could even pull a Cam Newton on Eric Berry.

Here's some highlights from last season Gator victory.

Here's what those slack jawed yokels are saying.
My Prediction

Florida - 52

Tennessee - 7

What Tennessee Has Going for Them

Contrary to popular belief there are a few things that the University of Tennessee football team has going for it. No it’s not creamsicle-colored pajamas. And no it’s not the fact that there are countless more donuts available in Knoxville now that Phil Fulmer is gone. There are truly football related things that are moving in the right direction for the Vols.

This does not mean they are working in their favor against the Gators on Saturday, but they are moving in the right direction nonetheless.

First off is Monte Kiffin. Yeah his son is a douche, and yes he somehow managed to raise one of the dumbest men in the world. However, there is no doubting the fact that Good ‘Ol Monte can coach. The elder Kiffin is a defensive genius. His schemes befuddled NFL coaches for nearly two decades. Now he’s attempting to do the same at the college level. There’s only one problem facing Monte at Tennessee. His schemes require a load of talent at nearly every position on the defensive side of the ball. While Tennessee has some talented defensive players, they don’t have show stoppers at every position. If Kiffin can keep his Vols’ defense competitive against the Gators on Saturday he would be showing just how great of a coach he is and that he may just deserve to be getting paid more than a lot of head coaches across the college football landscape today.

Another thing that Tennessee has working for them heading into Saturday is Eric Berry. This guy is a beast. He is, in my opinion, the best safety in all of college football. I know there are some Taylor Mays fans out there that would disagree with that statement but they are wrong. I actually had a friend of mine tell me that Ahmad Black and Major Wright are both better safeties than Berry. After punching him in the face, I helped him off the pavement and explained to him why Mr. Berry is in fact better. Trust me, I love Black and Eraser 2.0, but there is no way that they should even be mentioned in the same breath as Eric Berry.

The final thing that Tennessee has going for them is the extreme underdog role. In the whole history of this rivalry, there has never been a team that faced this much of an underdog status. No one, not even people in Knoxville, are clamoring for a UT victory. Normally this would help the underdog. However, thanks to Lane Kiffin opening his mouth, that won’t be the case this time. Kiffin’s off-season comments about Urban Meyer and the Florida program are feeding plenty of fuel to the fire for Saturday.

Even though all 3 of these things are pluses for Tennessee, it will not save them on Saturday. Monte Kiffin will grow increasingly senile as Tim Tebow and the Gators offense continuously rack up points, finally shutting up Rocky Top for longer than 10 seconds. Eric Berry will simultaneously have his ankles shattered by Chris Rainey while being viscously ravaged by a Riley Cooper block. I’ve already stated why the underdog status won’t help.

All in all, I can’t wait for Saturday. Look for my game preview to be posted by the next day.

Urban's Free Pass

I look forward to singing Rocky Top all night long after we beat Florida in the Swamp next year....

- Lane Kiffin

I submit the above statement as Exhibit A. Those words were famously uttered by Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin during his introductory press conference. These are also the same words that are purportedly taped to every locker in the Gators locker room. It was also a sign of the pure, unadulterated idiocy to come from Knoxville.

I submit the following video as Exhibit B.

These words were infamously uttered by Bozo, errr Lane at a Tennessee Booster gathering. As we all know, Kiffin didn't exactly study his recruiting rules guide. If he had, perhaps he would have known that what he was accusing Meyer of was in fact perfectly legal. To make matters worse, while Kiffin was busy calling Meyer a cheater, he himself was committing about 273394 recruiting violations.

Exhibit A and Exhibit B both are being used here as evidence. This is probably the first time in a long while that one coach in a seemingly superior position has the capability of running up the score without the traditional media and fan backlash that follows.

Everyone in the world knows what Urban Meyer wants to do to Lane Kiffin's Vols. I don't think Meyer will be satisfied if his bunch doesn't beat the Creamsicle Crusaders by a half hundo. The funny part is, everyone in the world knows that Urban Meyer is completely justifiable.

Even last year against Georgia, when Urban seemed to have every right to want to exact revenge against Mark Richt for the "celebration" of the previous year, he still caught some heat for calling two late timeouts with Florida ahead big. Meyer had to try to defend his actions by stating that he was simply trying to get Manny Moody some more carries.

Ask these unfortunate few what Meyer's wrath looks like.

This game is different. Meyer will have no need to defend his actions after keeping Tebow in a 70 point blowout only to allow him to run through the Vols' fourth string linebacker for his 6th td of the day. After the game Meyer can look right into the collective media's eyes and say, I made that douche in the creamsicle jumpsuit shut his mouth. I expect the media to start the slowest of slow caps at this remark by Meyer and he will be exalted by all.

I just don't know if people realize how special of an opportunity this is for Urb. He has a free pass to do whatever he wants! He could walk over to Lane Kiffin and piss on his forehead while flicking off Ed Orgeron and mouthing a big "FUCK YOU!" to good 'ol Monte.

Not even Randy Shannon would cry if Meyer put up numbers against Tennessee that would make S.O.S. blush. As a matter of fact, I think Meyer should issue a directive to the student body to bumrush the Tennessee band when they start to play Rocky Top for the first of 9,000 times. As all of this is happening the camera should pan in to Urb's grill for a close-up to catch him saying "I hate that god damn song" into the headset.

I hope Urban takes full advantage of this once in a lifetime moment. For a man that once used a rival's logo as urinal cakes, who knows where Kiffin's mug is plastered at right now.

Not too much change in this week's poll. There's only one new team as Houston jumps into the top 25. Michigan St. falls out after their loss to Central Michigan. Both Ohio St. and Oklahoma St. fall out of the top 10, making way for Cal and Penn St.

1. Florida Gators - The Gators defeated Troy 56-6 in the Swamp. Tebow's 5 touchdown led the way as he kept his Heisman hopes alive. The first somewhat halfway decent test comes next week when Tennessee comes to town.

2. Texas Longhorns - It took Colt McCoy and the Texas Longhorns a little while to show up against Wyoming. Once they got things rolling they were pretty hard to stop. Much like Tebow, Colt McCoy kept his Heisman hopes alive against an inferior opponent. Texas will face it's first true test next week against Tech.

3. USC Trojans - The Trojans barely escaped Columbus with a victory against the Buckeyes Saturday night. Matt Barkley did not impress anybody until the final SC drive of the night. Nonetheless, the Trojans got the best win of week 2.

4. LSU Tigers - The Tigers were able to put away a feisty Vandy team thanks in large part to Kieland Williams' running. Jordan Jefferson has looked pretty good for the Tigers. Like I've said since the season began, if the QB plays well, this team is pretty hard to beat.

5. Alabama Crimson Tide - The Tide were in a serious dog fight with Florida International for 2 and a half quarters Saturday night. Bama was able to pull away late for the 40-14 win. That's very impressive for a team that struggles against the Sun Belt...

6. Boise St. Broncos - The Broncos are inching ever closer to my top 5. Another impressive performance for Chris Petersen's bunch against Miami(OH). Boise St. still is in control of its own destiny as it pertains to a BCS bowl berth.

7. BYU Cougars - For the second straight week, two non-BCS teams go back-to-back in the top 10. I still think BYU's schedule may be too tough for them to go unbeaten. They still have TCU and Utah on the slate. That's much tougher than Boise's remaining games.

8. California Golden Bears - For the second straight week the Bears were the most impressive team to me. Granted it was against Eastern Washington, but Cal's offense looks pretty unstoppable. Jahvid Best is the best running back in the nation and Kevin Riley is becoming more than serviceable.

9. Penn St. Nittany Lions - If Jahvid Best is the best running back in the nation, Evan Royster is not too far behind him. Royster did everything for the Nittany Lions against the Orange on Saturday. Darryl Clark isn't so bad himself. It could be back-to-back Big Eleven titles for Penn St. this season.

10. Ole Miss Rebels - Ole Miss slips a bit after a bye week. It may not be fair, but that's how I roll. The Rebels still remain in the top ten so their shouldn't be too much complaining. Memphis' loss to Middle Tennessee St. makes Ole Miss' only victory look a little less impressive.

11. Ohio St. Buckeyes - The Buckeyes avoid sliding far after a loss by hanging tough with USC. Another loss in a big game is modus operandi for Ohio St. However, that's two straight close losses in big games. The vested one is making small steps in the right direction.

12. Virginia Tech Hokies - The Hokies are still the class of the ACC. That's still not saying much.

13. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets - Georgia Tech was 1B in the ACC coming into week 2. Struggling against Clemson at home diminishes their status slightly. The Yellow Jackets do have one more conference win than Virginia Tech as of now.

14. Oklahoma Sooners - Landry Jones and the Sooners looked really good this week. But.....it was against Idaho St. Tulsa should provide a tougher test next week.

15. Kansas Jayhawks - Who knew the Big XII North would be this good? Well at least the top half of the division. Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri are all very solid teams. Kansas St., Iowa St. and surprisingly Colorado are some of the worst BCS teams this season.

16. Houston Cougars - The Cougars are the new team to the top 25 this week. Case Keenum and company went into Stillwater and did something that Georgia could not do....upset Oklahoma St. Almost as impressive as Houston's second half offense was their defense shutting down the Cowboys when needed.

17. Cincinnati Bearcats - Cincy comes off a 70 point performance against poorly over matched SE Missouri St. Cincy is leading the charge of the Big East teams fighting for respectability. Pittsburgh and West Virginia are also looking like solid ball clubs.

18. TCU Horned Frogs - TCU finally made it onto the playing field on Saturday. Usually beating a BCS team is a big accomplishment for non-BCS schools. However, it is becoming common practice for Mountain West teams to knock off BCS opponents.

19. North Carolina Tar Heels - North Carolina barely snuck out a win against Connecticut. The close victory hurt their standing a little bit in my poll. I still believe the Tar Heels are the most talented team in the conference and we all know what Butch Davis is capable of with talent.

20. Oklahoma St. Cowboys - The Cowboys loss really screwed up things for me. I predicted that 3 Big XII South teams would be ranked in the top 5 at the same time at some point during the season. That's not gonna happen now. I also have stated that Bedlam could have been a qualifying game for the Big XII title game. That could still happen but I really don't have much faith in the Cowboys anymore.

21. Utah Utes - Utah's slim win against San Jose St. dims Utah's prestige a bit. That's two not so impressive victories against lowly WAC teams for the Utes. It's a good thing they're working all of their kinks out early before the big boys of the Mountain West show up.

22. Nebraska Cornhuskers - The Huskers have been impressive early in the season. The lack of competition is what's keeping them ranked so low in my poll. They'll have a better chance to climb up the ranks in the coming weeks.

23. Georgia Bulldogs - Georgia got a victory against their old rival SOS Saturday night. The Dawgs have still not blown me away with their offense. Then again, I can't remember UGA ever really blowing me away with their offense. Mark Richt's bunch clings onto it's top 25 position for another week.

24. Texas Tech Red Raiders - I continue to be the only person in the free world to rank Tech in my top 25. That should change either way after their date with Texas. I'm guessing I'll conform to everyone else...

25. Missouri Tigers - Missouri's slim victory against Bowling Green may not have been as bad as it looked. The Falcons will surprise some people this season with how good they are. Plus, it's only nature for a team to suffer a minor let down after humiliating a rival.
